Computer Aid also relies on volunteers to who give up some of their time to help the organisation achieve its mission. We are looking for people with a wide range of skills to support our work.
We generally ask volunteers to commit to a minimum of two days per week for a minimum of three months. Office based voluntary positions are open Monday to Friday during normal office hours. Workshop and warehouse voluntary positions work Monday to Saturday. In return for your help we offer a safe and friendly working environment and the opportunity to learn new skills. All volunteers are also given a full induction into the work of the charity.

Do you have an interest in international development and the environment? If so, this is an ideal introductory role into these two sectors.
We are looking for an intern to assist the PC donations and marketing department in its work to boost vital donations of PCs from companies in the UK, to be reused in schools, hospitals and community organisations in developing countries.
This will involve direct mailing, cold calling, and exhibiting at conferences and events. The intern will need to persuade IT managers of the environmental and social benefits of reusing their unwanted IT equipment. The role will also involve general administration tasks, such as thanking donors, answering telephone and email queries and data inputting.
Person specification:
• Good telephone manner – able to discuss Computer Aids services to UK businesses, and influence and convince via the phone
• Able to represent Computer Aid at conferences and events and communicate persuasively face to face
• Good computer skills and experience of using databases
• Ability to organise own work load and prioritise effectively
• A working knowledge of IT equipment and its uses.
• Commitment to the values, aims and objectives of Computer Aid International.
Ideally the candidate will be able to volunteer 3 days a week for 3 months, starting as soon as possible. Volunteer expenses of up to £10 per day will be paid for food and travel on production of valid receipts.
