Our visit to Rights Con 2019

We went to Rights Con in Tunis, Tunisia this year to talk about the desperate need for companies to take responsibility for e-waste. Over the 4 day conference, we had the opportunity to network with other organisations working in technology and human rights.

Our session was a fishbowl where we discussed an environmentally sustainable future for the internet and technology. It was surprising for us how few attendees knew about the size of the e-waste problem we are facing, and we identified that most see it as an individual issue rather than the responsibilities of businesses to correctly dispose of their electrical waste.

We had a packed room for the talk, and are expecting more of a focus on the environment at future events we attend.
